Empowered Resilience Course Content
This program is designed to help empower women and increase fitness and confidence by improving strength, balance, and mobility through self-defense training and self-improvement principles passed down in traditional martial arts.
Each month of training represents a "level" of progression, culminating in an achievement certification. Everyone will progress at their own pace, so don't worry if you miss a class!
Participants who successfully complete all six levels will also have the opportunity to become assistant instructors for future course offerings, further empowering themselves and others.

Class Format:
Each class will begin with a warm-up, mobility, and balance segment of approximately 15 minutes.

The second section of class will be strengthening segment of about 15 minutes, utilizing primarily traditional bodyweight exercises but also some assisted exercises such as bands, etc.

The last section of class, approximately 30 minutes, will be practice of self-defense techniques incorporated as a fitness-building routine, first focusing on individual techniques and their applications, then repeating them make the movements automatic, learn power generation, and build confidence. This will then progress to combinations of these techniques as practical self-defense reactions to numerous situations. Gradually, as participants are comfortable, assistants will hold targets for striking and also provide themselves as partners for practice in escaping, striking, and takedowns – as much as can be done safely.
