Historical European Martial Arts is a varied and evolving sport, combining safe practices and historical precedents. It can combine historical teachings of Meyer and Liechtenauer, Roworth, Fiore and Destreza, and even more modern schools like SCA rapier and olympic saber. The primary focus is on historical techniques and interactions rather than modern self defense applications.
 

Ninth House scholars are focused on personal exploration, interpretation, and honorable interactions with teammates.  Each scholar focuses on basic skills with longsword, branching off into studies in a particular style and weapon, and follows the core tenets of respect, understanding, and personal improvement.
 

Ninth house welcomes free scholars from all modern combative rulesets, including SCA, TSL, LARP, synthetic, and blunt steel. Our space is safe and open for all, particularly those in traditionally under represented genders, members of POC communities, and LGBTQIA+ people.
